Green light for
tyre safety month
October’s tyre safety month is nearly underway and hundreds of tyre retailers, garages and other organisations across the UK will be supporting the campaign. Many outlets will be offering free tyre safety checks as well as showing drivers how easy it is to check that their tyres are safe and legal with the 20p test.
The 20p test is a quick and simple way to see if your tyres have sufficient tread depth. In fact, it’s so simple even an adult can do it.  If you want to know more about this year’s campaign, the 20p test or how to get involved, visit the TyreSafe website.

A lesson in tyre safety
7-year old ‘mechanics’ Kyanne and Finlay can be seen issuing a stern tyre safety warning in an online movie to support tyre safety month. The pair’s appeal features the two ‘mechanics’ reprimanding a motorist for driving on illegal tyres, followed by a demonstration of the 20p test.
